HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLED REPORT. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated October 9, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— "Meat: English in moderate supply at following average prices: Beef, Is 4d; mutton, Is 10d; lamb, 2s. Good demand for New Zealand mutton and lamb at maximum price. "Butter: Average price English is £23. Extremely small supply of Irish; quotaj tions range up to £24 10s. [ Cheese: Demand for English continues restricted, but price tends dearer owing to smaller stocks, up to £9 7s. Canadian position and price unchanged. "Hemp: Manila market quiet and prices slightly weaker. Present quotations are "J" grade July-September to October-December shipments, £(>S 10s. Output January 1 to September 30, S4C,oofi bales against 802.000 same, period last year. Stocks in Manila September 80, 293,000, against 435,000.' New Zealand market idle early this week, but at the close spot quotations steady, distant were firmer. Highpoints October-De-cember shipment sold at £54 10s; fair October-December shipment £52; Sep-tember-November shipment, £52 10s."
