Archbishop Tied wood is expected to return from Europe by the Taiiiui. which is due at Auckland on October 2\. Mr. Nanearrow, manager of Mesv*. It is cxpeeied the. new Governor (Lord .lellicoe) will pay his first visit to Taranaki about the middle of December. * The Wellington Presbytery lias nominated the Rev. W. Ilewitson, Knox College, Duncdin, a< Moderator of the General Assembly for the ensuing year. The liev. W. .1. Connie was nominated, but declined to accept. —Press Association. t> Information has been received by the Bishop's Commissary, Auckland, of the death at Chelmsford, England, of the Rev. A. Richards, former vicar of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, KhybetPass Road. Death occurred on August l!>, after a protracted and painful illness. The following recent promotions in (he Post and Telegraph Department are announced:—V. R. Anderson, Senior Supervisor, Telegraph Office, Wellington, to be Superintendeiil, Telegraph Office, Napier; A. J. A. Koberts, Superintendent, Telegraph Office, Palmcrston North, to be Superintendent, Telegraph Office, Wanganui. The. death occurred 1 on Sunday night of Mr. Kenneth Wilson. M.A..'at his residence, Rangifikei Su-ect, Palmerston North. The deceased had suffered from influenza for three weeks, and died from its effects. The late Mr; Wilson arrived in Palmerston North over thirty .years' ago, having been previously headmaster of Wellington College, and conducted, a private school for many years.
