JERSEY BREEDERS' ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the New Plymouth branch of the New Zealand Jersey Breeder.-.' Association was held 011 Saturday. There was a representative attendance of member.-, Mr. 11. B. Lepper (president) occupying the chair. REPORT AND BALANCE SHEET. The annual report stated that a slight increase in membership had been experienced during the year. A distinct mark of progress in the Branch's activities was the inauguration of '.lie First Turanaki Jersey Oaks. Jt had been completely successful. There were Illti entries received from nil parts of (lie North Island, and a pleasing feature had been that the closing nf the first acceptances on June 30th showed S5 still competing. By direction of the lust annual meeting, 1 lie committee had arranged a sale of [icdigrce bulls and maiden J.efers. The balance sheet showed receipts amounting to Uihi ."s !id, and disbursements totalled C-! His Sd, leaving a credit balance of C 4 Lw Id. On the motion nf the President and Mr. F. W. THE RECENT SALE. Members referred witli ~s.lisfaelion to the succe*- achieved by the pedigree sale, and to the ideal she which had been oblained by the use of the A. and P. Asw'ere made to the good work done by the secretary in the preliminary arrangements and the management of the sale generally. Votes of thanks were passed to the ladies' committee, the President of the As-.-ociation (.Mr. W. 1!. Grant), Messrs. K. \V. Lysons, A. Thompson, I'. Cornwall, 11. C. Sampson, P. \V. Cornwall, and the auctioneer (Mr. C. Fairbrother), GENERAL. The subscription was raised to 10s Gd per annum. The title of the Association was altered to "The New Plymouth Jersey Breeders' Club." A bonus of twenty guineas was voted the secretary in reeogniiioii of his services. At the suggestion of Mr. Ycates. Mr. Griffiths was requested to again bring the matter of reprinting back volumes of herd book' before the Jersey Council.
