GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING, A meeting of the general committee of He Taranaki A. and P. Society was lield on Saturday, Mr. W. B. Grant (President) occupying the chair. The secretary reported that the groynes in the Waiwakaiho river, near the Society's cattle pens, had been completed, and that the water pipes had again been connected up. A vote of thanks was tendered to Mr. R. D. Climie for a donation of timber for anchor poles for use in connection with the erection of the water pipes. The New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association wrote, offering a sum of £5 5s as a points prize, and also to subsidise any sum between £5 and £lO allotted by the Society for a class for semiofficially tested cows. —The offer was accepted with thanks, and the Society decided to make the prize money in the semi-official test class £5. The recommendations of the extraordinary general meeting in regard to the alteration to show dates were confirmed. Messrs. .1. Hair at:<! -1. (!. Short were eleeted members of the K.iciety. The Labor Day Sports Committee were granted the use of the Society's annexe at the Coronation Fall in conneeton with the evening function. Keeommemlations were received from tho schedule committee, and were adopted. Included in the alterations will be the strengthening of the pony classes.
