PRICES OF MEAT AND BUTTER. Auckland, Oct. 9. The Auckland Prices Investigation Tribunal considered a comprehensive report on meat prices. It covers every branch of the meat industry, from the price paid for stock in the saleyards to the value of by-products. According to this report, butchers operating in the city and suburbs have been losing money on the retail meat business. The present is considered to be the most unfavorable period of the year for butchers, so far as prices go, and the report will serve as a good basis for the tribunal to investigate charges made for meat during other periods in the year. Wellington, Oct. 9.
