PORT TO BE BUSY.
ARRIVALS AT THE WEEK-END. THE RAKAWA BAR-BOUND. . With the exception of the loading of the liner Port Pirie, the New Plymouth harbor has experienced comparatively few shipping movements during the last' week, due in some measure to the congestion at Wellington, but within the next few days there will be a steady stream of arrivals and departures. Advices received last night stated that the fiarawa was bar-bound at Oiiehunga, But may get away this morning, being due here this evening. She will, in this case, not sail for Onehunga to-night. A large cargo of southern merchandise is to be brought by the Corinna, which is due here to-morrow. To-mor-row's list of arrivals will also prabably include the Kini, from Westport and Greymouth with coal, and the Rosamond from the south with general cargo. The Rosamond will Jeave Wellington to-day or to-morrow. The Port Pirie's loading has been completed and.she is now discharging coal. The vessel will probably not sail till Tuesday. The Mamari 'will not -arrive on Tuesday as originally anticipated, as she is not expected at Wellington till Wednesday, and should reaoh New Plymouth about the end of the week.
A consignment of 1000 tons of superphosphate is being brought by the Tarnon Maru, which is coming direct from Japan, She sailed on September 23, and is due at New Plymouth on the 20th inst. She is the first direct steamer to come from Japan to New Plymqjith.
