LABOR COMBINE.
JOINING ALL WORKERS, EXPANSION OF THE ALLIANCE. By Teleera'pfo.—Press Association, Wellington, Last Niglit. An important Industrial Conference under the auspices of the N.Z. Alliance of Labor is to be held in Wellington on Tuesday, November 9, for the purpose of considering the best method to be adopted to group unaffiliated organisations into industrial departments, as laid down in the constitution of the Alliance. All national industrial unions and federations of workers have been invited to be represented, and it is anticipated that as a result of the conference, the organisation of the Alliance of Labor will be considerably enlarged. The bodies at present affiliated with the Alliance consist of transport workers, seamen, drivers tramwaymen, the Amalgamated Society of Railway Workers, the Miners' Federation, and workers in the iron industry. The proposal to be placed before the forthcoming conference, .will be that labor generally should organise along the lines of industry, as apart from separate sectional craft or trades unions, various bodies being grouped Into departments, and having a voice on the national council.
