PIANO-PLAYING TEST.
rixgrd hreaker starts to-day, An attempt to break the world's record for continuous piano-playing will lie commenced by Mr. Albert Bteelfi at ilie Empire Theatre, Xew Plymouth, at 9.'M) o'clock thin morning. This record is at present held by Professor Kemp, an Englishman, who played {or 110 hours unci 21) minutes. Mr. Steele has set himself a long and hard task, for he will have to play for longer than the time occupied by the profei-sor, and to achieve liia ambition he will be at the piano till 11.51 p.m. on Saturday. It will be. a continuous strain, with loss of sleep for' several nights. A trnjner must be with him day and night, in order to massage his hands and arms while lie is manipulating the keyboard, as l one of the conditions of the test is that the player miisLnot take his fingers from the keyhoard for more than two seconds at ft time. The theatre will be open to the public continuously day and night, and arrangements will be made to nee that the conditions are fulfilled.
