ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. ChrMchurch, September 28. At the Addington market to-day the yarding was the smallest of the season for both fat sheep and cattle, and values improved for beef by about 20s per head. There was also a slight improvement in mutton values. Store stock showed little change in price. Store Sheep: A larger entry than usual. Hoggets and wethers, were in weaker demand, but several pens of ewes wltb lambs made high prices. Two-tooth ewes and lambs (all counted) realised to 265; sound and failingmouth ewes and lambs (all counted) 23s Od to 245; inferior six and eight-tooth ewes in lamb, 275; m.s. hoggets, 24s Od to 28s; good halfbred wether hoggels, 31s 6d; ewe hoggets, 31s 3d; cull hoggets, 17s 3d; two, four, six, and eight-tooth wethers, 32s lid to 33s 9d; four and six-tooth wethers, 31a to 37s Bd. Fat Sheep: Only six races were penned—less than butchers' requirements. The sale was irregular, but generally prices were a shade ahead of last week. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLED REPORT. The Department of Industries has received the following cablegram, dated September 25 irom the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London : "Meat.—English supplies larger; trade dull; prices slightly easier.
