Tin South Taranaki Jersey breeders, as appear on the catalogue of a sale to be held at Kaponga on the 22nd inst, have Instructed Newton King, Ltd., to offer the public the choice of some of the classiest of their herds, all of whltjh have herd-book reputations, and many have! proved merit behind tham as a basis for the foundation of leading herds in the future. It is quite certain that hundreds pounds will be paid for the twenty-two edigree heifers and sixty-eight pedigree bulls obe paraded. It Is no "cull" sale in any sense of the word, but with the object of popularising the breed and proving the value of first-class stuff to the average farmer, an annual public auction Is ticing inaugurated. The animals to be offered claim as their sires K.C.8., Majesty's Pox, I'mhient's Fontaine, Roberts, Petune's Nob!.-. I'ampanUe Sultan, Charm's Lprd Twylish. S' uini-e Majesty, and Goddington, while the breeders' names arc sufficient guarantee of quality from the point of view of show awards. In the of vendors, we find Messrs. It. J. Linn (Normanby), Karl Rothe (Rivcrlea), D. L. A. Astbury (Mangatokl), G. E. Cowling (Manaia), T. Linn (Mnngatoki), J (k Robertson (Eltham), E. J. O'Hanlon (Pihama), A.' H. Guy (Kaponga), W. Johnson (Ngaere), D. Malone (Kaponga), A. L. Hooper (Mahoe), T. Perry (Mangatoki), P. Ranford (Stratford), and others. Further particulars can be obtained from the catalogues that have been issued or from the auctioneers. The sale starts at 11.30 on Wednesday, the 22nd.
