AUCKLAND BEAT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association, • Auckland, Sept. 18. Auckland defeated Wellington this afternoon in a challenge match for the hockey shield by 4 goals to 2. The game was one of the best seen in Auckland this season, and was witnessed bv about 1500 spectators. Wellington scored first, and a hot attack by Auckland subsequently evened the score, and the first spell ended one goal each. Soon after resuming,
Auckland scored again, and then Hood scored tor Wellington. Two more goals were registered by Auckland before time was'called. '
