WEDDING.

MARSHALL—FQOKES. At St. Mary's Church, New Plymouth, yesterday afternoon, Miss Grace Fookes, third daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Fookes, New Plymouth, was married to Mr. ,T. W. Marshall, of Bolton, England. The Rev. F. G. Harvie was the officiating clergyman and Mr. R. N. Renaud presided at the organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Dr. E. Faber Fookes. She wore a French costume of nale grey and pink shot taffeta with smart vest of georgette and laee, and an oyster grey hat wreathed with grapes, and carried a beautiful bouquet of pale pink sweet peas veiled in pale pink tulle. The chief bridesmaid was her twin sister, Miss Margie Fookes, who wore a dainty frock of pale mauve georgette embroidered with mauve and blue, and hat to match wreathed with pink and cerise flowers and bouquet of anemoiiies of corresponding shades. The other bridesmaid, Miss Evic Fookes, niece of the bride, wore pale lemon crepe-de-chine witli georgette frills and pale green hat trimmed with anemonies and carried a bouquet of the same flowers. Mr. Clement Marshall acted as best man. After the ceremony Dr. and Mrs. E. F. Fookes held a reception at their residence, only immediate relations being present. Mrs. Fookes was wearing a lovely frock of periwinkle crepe-de-chine trimmed with gold tissue and black hat relieved with gold. Mrs. P. B. Fitzhcrbert wore navy charmeuse and leghorn hat trimmed with navy. Mrs. R. J. Matthews, black taffetas and black hat with touches of gold; Mrs. J. Wilson, black taffetas and hat to match; Miss Marshall, navy taffetas and black hat. Later Mr. and Mrs. Marshall left for a motor tour of the North Island, the bride travelling in a navy costume, and smart navy straw hat with wreath of colored berries and aeroplalie bow at the back.
