At the conclusion of a conference between Signor Giolitti (Premier of Italy) and M. Millerand (Premier of France), the Prime Ministers approved the publication of a statement that they found common interests in every way easily reconcilable, and emphasise that the primary base of peace is, more especially in Europe, the agreement of Great Britain, "Italy, and France. They declare that »uch wars as the jlusso-Polish hostilities must be ended, as must also the hostilities between the Turkish -Nationalists and the Constantinople Government. Agreement is recorded as regards Turkey's integrity and Tseogßlttony and the desirability of friendly collaboration in the development of French and Italian interests in Asia Minor, and the avoidance of competition between the respective nations. A* regards the thorny question of the policy in regard to Russia, the Premiers record that the Governments of Italy and' Prance will respect their mutual freedom of action in regard to the Soviet Government.—-Aus.-N.Z.
