LATEST DOMINION AWARDS. By Telegraph.—Press Association Auckland, Last Night. Dominion awards for the Rolated Printing Trades (bookbinders and lithographers), Union and the Federated Typographical Union were filed this morning. The chief features are:— Bookbinders' hours.—Forty-five per week for day workers, and forty-two for night workers. Wages, class 1 (centres of population of over 5000) and class 2 (5000 and unletterpress machinists, bookbinders, paper rulers, etc., £4 10s 3d, class 2 £4 ss; cutters, class 1, first year £2| 19a 9d, second £3 2s 9d, third £3 12s 9d, thereafter £4 10a 3d; ciass 27» less than the above rates. Rotary lithographic and rotary offset machinists and zinc transferrers £4 15s 3d. Rotary newspaper machinists in four cities: Head of department, by arrangement; first machinist £4 10s 3d, leading general hand £3 7s 9d, general hands £3 2s 9d, Stereotypers, head by arrangement; assistant £4 10s 3d, general £3 2s fld. In addition, a bonus of lis, and night workers 10 per cent extra, with a maximum of 10s added to the day basic wage. Females in any branch, first six months 17s 6d, second six months £l, second year £1 ss, third £1 10s, fourth £1 15s, thereafter £2 os. The award in force from May 1, 1920, until April 2, 1922. Typographers' wages: Linotype, intertype, and linograph machines: Day operators, working within ten miles of the four big cities, £4 19s, outside £4 15s. Monotype day operators, inside radius, £4 10s, outside £4 12s. Monoline, typograph, barotypo, simplex and other composing machine, day operators, in towns wtyh over 7000 population £4 10s 3d; day operators in smaller centres £4 ss; casual operators 3s per hour daytime and 3s 6d at night. Bonus of lis added, and to night workers 10 per cent extra, with a maximum of 10s weekly. Stone and bulk hands in newspapers in large cities for day work and £5 0s 3d for night work; second atone hand, day £4 15s 3d, night £5 6s 3d; casual bulk hand, dfty work 2s Od per hour, night 3s. Bonus lis per week. Piece work rates are also defined. The hours are forty-two per week, and females to receive the same rates of pay as men.
