By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. The London Oa2ette notifies the voluntary liquidation of Sir Thomas Beecham's Opera Company. The number of people killed by the earthquake in Italy is estimated to be at least five hundred. Over twenty thousand are homeless. One estimate puts the dead at fourteen thousand. Constantinople reports that an. attempt 'by the Crown Prince to flee to Anatolia to join the Nationalists was frustrated. He has been arrested and placed under rigorous control. Lorenzo Marques reports that it is officially stated that the strike is practically over. Twenty-four strike leaders were transferred to another part of the province. The New York Times' Washington correspondent reports that immigration is increasing rapidly, with indications that the pre-war record will be equalled this year. The Commissioner of Immigration is desirous that new arrivals should seek industrial centres, and this has tended to increase tha housing difficulty in New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia, and has left the farming sections without needed help.
