GREAT INCREASE IN EXPORTS. * Bj TeltgraUi.—Press A«sn—Copyright. London, Sept. 8. A great increase in exports from the United Kingdom is the feature of the Board of Trade returns for August. Exports totalled £115,000(000, an increase of £40,000.000 compared with the previous' August. Imports totalled £153,•250.000, an increase of £4,500,000. The principal increases in exportls were: Cotton manufactures, £14,000,000; iron and steel manufacturers, £5,5ft0,000; coal, £2,500,000; woollens, £1,250,0(»0. The principal increases in imports were: Grain and flour, £7,500,000; pap-*-making materials, £2,000,000; rubber, £1,250,000. The principal decreases in imports were: Meat, £10,000,000; cotton, £7,000,000. Re-export of foreign and colonial merchandise .totalled £13.250,000, a decrease of nearly £*2,000,000. The - exports for eight months total €010,000,000; the imports £1,351,000,000; and re-exports of foreign and colonial merchandise £167,000,00, an increase of £84,500,000.
