In the House of Representative! thla afternoon, Mr. Maseey moved that » select committee be appointed to inquire into and repprt upon the present and future prices of butter in tne Dominion, especially with regard to the prob-' ability of the present exportable surplus being purchased by the 'lmperial Government at a considerable increase in price as compared with last season's output. The committee is to report within three weeks this date, and to have power to*'call for persons and papers. The committee will .consist of Messrs H. Atmore (Nelson), J., R. Hamilton (Awarua), 6. Hawkeri (Egmont), P. F. Hookly (Rotorua), Kellett (Dunedin North), ,T. McCombs (Lyttelton), A. D. McLeod (Walrarapa), J. A. Nash (Palmerston North), H. .Poland (Ohincmuri), VV. D. Powdrell (Patea), and the. Premier.' ■: The motion was agreed to.
