After touring the northern area, the Minister of Agriculture states that the agricultural outlook was never better On present appearances the harvest promises to bo close on a record. WARSHIP. AUSTRALIA. Sydney, Sept. 0 Mr. Cook and Mr. Millen denied Ftatements that the warship Australia was obsolete and about to go out of commission, and Mr. Cook added that the idea of scrapping her was absurd. PEACE LOAN FIGURES. Sydney, Sept. 7. The amount subscribed to the Peace Loan is £11,000,000. It closes to-day, and £14,000,000 is still required. The peace loan subscriptions jumped to £15,000,000 on Monday. The figures are incomplete. Victoria is leading with aggregate subscriptions of £6,500,000, yesterday's amount being £2,000.000. New South Wales is £4,000,000 short of its quota.
