WAITARA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) September 7. Mr. Rowland Lawrence,'on the" eve of his departure for farming pursuits at Uruti, was presented by the office staff of Messrs Borthwick and Son,., with a pair of silver vases and a butter dish. Mr. Fred Locke, late of Auckland, has taken over Mr. Spencer Ridglev's interests o'f the Waitaru Hotel. Mr. Eidgley is going farming at Pukearuhe. The continued cold spell of weather, accompanied by heavy frosts, is causing the farming community some anxiety. They are complaining of shortness of feed, and many paddocks are becoming quite bare. /
