AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL.
RESIGNATION OF TOWN CLEIIK. By Teloerapli.—Press Association. Auckland. Last Night. At the conclusion of a meeting, on Thursday evening last, the City Council dealt, in committee, with a letter from Mr. H. W. Wilson tendering his resignation as Town Clerk of Auckland. The resignation was accepted as from September 30, 1021., leave of absence being granted from to-day till the expiry of his term. Mr. Wilson ii a native of Dunedin, in which city he spent twenty-two years on the municipal staff, beginning as a cadet and rising to the position of acting Town Clerk. He succeeded the late Mr. I*. A. Philips us Town Clerk of Auckland in 1900, taking up his duties in March of that year. The Mayor reported to the Council, when in committee, that there were several staff matters requiring consideration, and it is understood that the Council has under consideration further changes, and a re-arrangement of the staff. '
