The Lower House of the Tennessee State Legislature voted to reconsider the approval of the. woman suffrage amendment on the ground that a quorum of members was not present upon the occasion.—Aus.-N.Z. Mr. Bainluidae Colby (.Secretary for State) states that the action of the Tennessee Legislature raises a quest ion with which tile State Department is lint primarily concerned. He has promuigat ■ ed a proclamation in ratification of the suffrage amendment. The suffrage leaders express themselves secure in their belief that the legality of tho-ratification cannot bo questioned, but it is expected that the Supreme Court will be called on for a settlement of the issue.—Aus.-N.Z.
