GERMANY AND BOLSHEVIKS.
DECISION TO REMAIN PEACEFUL. By Telegraph —Press Assn.—Copyright. Berlin, Sept. 2. Addressing the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Foreign Minister (Herr von Simons) said that lie had beeri urged to collaborate with the Bolsheviks against the Western Powers and thus break tile bonds imposed by the Treaty of Versailles. .After mature reflection lie had rejected this course, in view of the defenceless stato of the country. Germany would immediately have become the theatre of war. Proposals were also made that Germany should make common cause with the Western Powers against Russia, This, however, also was impossible. Na Power making war against Soviet Russia need count on Germany's support. Statements' that Germany would conclude a secret agreement with Poland und Russia were absolutely faise. All negotiations with Poland for the purpose of settling the frontier questions had been made public, but were quite fruitless, and a. considerable amount of ill-feeliug had been generated.—Renter.
