THE PEOPLE'S. LAST. NIGHT OF "ANNIE LAURIE." The latest all-British production entitled "Annie Laurie," and starting beautiful Alma Taylor, concludes its local season to-night at the People's. It is a heart-appealing romance, and gives Miss Taylor great scope for her undoubted ability as an actress. The bill includes gazette, comedy, and Marv Page No, 12. ' A big double star bill is announced for to-morrow, presenting H. B. Warner in "The Grey Wolf's Ghost," and Win. Russell in "That Hero Stuff." The matinee to-morrow commences at 2 p.m. EVERYBODY'S. WILLIAM FARNUM~IN "THE RAINBOW TRAIL." Wililam Farnum, starring in "The Rainbow Trail," is the stellar attraction at Everybody's to-night, and at both sessions to-morrow. This film is replete with tense and thrilling situations, and proves that Farnum is easily the greatest delineator of Western types now playing before the camera. The story is a sequel to "Riders of the Purple Sage," but those who did not see that picture will in no way be at. a loss in viewing "The Rainbow Trail," as the incidents in the later production are ail in a separate form. Mr. Farnum is again seen as Lassiter, the feared x rider of the. range and the terror of the Utah border. Indeed, this sterling player portrays two roles :n "The Rainbow Trail," that of Lassiter and of Shefford, who searches the mountains for the girl he loves. Evening prices of admission are; D.C. 2s, stalls Is fld and Is, reserves 8d extra at Collier's. Matinee prices are: Adults Is Cd and Is, and children 6d. "THE FAMOUS DIGGERS." EMPIRE THEATRE, TO-MORROW. That wonderful combination of artists, "The Diggers," is a much travelled company. Originating in France, they have appeared in Belgium and Germany, giving performance after performance to the delight of our soldiers and All'es. "The Diggers" also appeared in London, under the direction of Sir Alfred Butt, and when appearing in Glasgow were the guests of the city, on the invitation of the Lord Provost, Sir William Stewart. "The Diggers" have lust completed a tour of Australia, where they created a furore, under the banner of J. C. ! Williamson, Ltd., and are now paying a farewell visit to New Zealand prior to going on tour in the East. Their many friends and admirers will remember with pleasure the sensational success of this brilliant company of artists on their'previous visit to New Plymouth, when they "took the town by storm." "The Diggers" will present entirely new programmes and many new and novel features, which should cause a riot of mirth and laughter. In Australia, "The Diggers" met with wonderful succcbs, and their delightful entertainment was met with enthusiastic appreciation everywhere they went. The Sydney Times says: "The Diggers' launched their peaceful offensive against a crowded audience last night, and were the victors, the vanquished taking the count in paroxysms of laughter—truly a great show." An orchestra of ten members will be a special feature of the entertainment. Bernard V. Cottier is the musical : director, and Tano Fama producer. The box plans are now open at Collier's.
