EXAMINATIONS.
TRINITY COLLEGE OF MUSIC. The examinations in ■connection with the .Trinity College of Music, London, were conducted at the local convent by Mr. Chas. Schilsky, on August 31st and September Ist. Preparatory: (Honours), Kathleen Kynes 95, Nina Smith 84, Edna Bourke 90, Elva Crawshaw 82, Vera Jones 81, Marjorie Ladnor (violin) 81. Pas 9: M. McGoraan 76, Hai'ry Whittle (violin) 69. First Steps: Penrose Boyd 87, Peggy Crothers 82, Dell Roebuck 80, Ethel Richards 74. OTHER EXAMINATIONS. The following are the results- of the Commercial Examinations held last June in connection with Sir Isaac Pitman and Son, Ltd., Melbourne, and the National Business College, Sydney:— Shorthand (speed, 80 words per minute): Elsie Lynch, Edith Julian, Maymie Fleming. Theoretical: A. McQuaig, K, Fleming, S. Parker, K. Pellew, Z. Humphries, B. Kerr, K. Trehey, P. Creery, 0. Cornwall, E. McNeice. Junior Book-keeping and Typewriting: A. McQuaig, K. Fleming, S. Parker. C. Cornwall, K. Pellew, B. Kerr, P. Cre'cry, ,N. Quinlan, E. McNeice. Typewriting only: M. Barlow, G. Parker. Book-keep-ing only: M. Mannix, N. Bowler, M. Hutchinson, K. Healy, Z. Humphries. A gold medal has been awarded by the above College to Miss Edith Julian, on account of the high percentage of marks gained by her in Junior and Intermediate book-keeping during the year 19)9. Miss Betty Allen has been successful in passing the Public Service Entrance Typistes' Examination (Junior) held in New Plymouth this year.
