WEEKLY MARKET REPORT. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report as follows: Beef: Fair supplies of beef are being handled at all our sales, although much of It Is of 'second quality. In general, values are not so high as was anticipated earlier In the season, and very little advance can be noticed since our last report. The demand for prime quality still continues good. - Mutton: Prime quality mutton is easily disposed of, and bas advanced somewhat /lately, but there la a continuous supply of inferior quality coming forward, and such is not meeting with too good a reception. Store Cattle: The store cattle market is, generally speaking, dull and lifeless. No doubt the delay in the long looked for evidences of spring Is largely accountable, indeed graziors are looking forward to the next fsw weeks with some misgivings. It seems safe to predict, however, that an all round rise will very shortly set in. Grown 'Steers have been Meeting with fair competition, also good yearlings of both sexes. Empty cows are dull and appear to offer to purchasers the probability of good investment. Two-year cattle, both steers and heifers, are not much in demand. Store' Sheep: There-has been a decline In this branch slifte last reporting. Breeding ewes are In course of lambing, consequently, little business is being transacted. Quotations are now to hand for forward delivery sheep, and sheep off shears. Whatever may be the feeling amongst buyers it is certain that the expectations of sellers are particularly hopeful. Dairy Cattle: Dairy stock seem at last to have rounded the corner, and the outlook Is distinctly better. At all our sales fair competition has been in evidence. Horses: Good handy draught horses are still In strong demand, !although, the recent stmrp advance has made vendors very difficult to satisfy. There Is every indication tliat the spring fairs will show very satisfactory results. Pigs: Fat pigs have considerably advanced in values, realising equol to 12% d per lb. In consequence of this no doubt very much better yardlngs have resulted and no difficulty has been experienced In clearing. Slips and vteaners have also correspondingly advanced. We quote as follows Bullocks, heavy prime £l9 to £22 10s, medium £ls to £l7. 10s; cows, prime fat £l2 10s to £l3 15s, medium fat £U to £l2 10s; heifers, fat £lO 10s to £l2; bullocks, 4-yr-old, £ll to £l3 ss; cows, fresh conultoned, £7 10s to £9; steers, 3-yr-old £8 5b to £lO, 2yr-old £6 to £T 10s, 2-yr medium £4 10s to £5 10s; heifers, 2-yr best, £6 to £T. yenTlingr £4 to £5; dairy cows, test Jerseys £2O to £33, best Shorthorns £l4 to £2O,- refers, Jersey 2-yr.
