WAITARA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) August 3ft. A euchre party under the auspices of the Soldiers' and Civilians' Club Committee was held in the Clifton Hall on Friday last, the winners being Mesdames Brough (first), Potter (second), and Messrs. W. Day (first), C. Tanner (second). After cards, dancing was indulged in, the music being supplied by Mrs. Wiseman and Mr. Stewart. The M.C.'s were Messrs. E. Frost and L. Sheehan. After the close of business on Saturday night at the "Big Store," the staff assembled to bid farewell to Miss M; Pennipgton and Miss Spurdle, who are to be married. On,behalf of the firm, Mr. Rennie presented Miss Pennington with a silver entree dish, and Miss Spurdle with a silver cake stand, and wished the recipients long life, happiness, and prosperity.
