Owing to the local compositors refusing to abide by th<> national agreement which recently settled the wages' claim, no newspapers were published in Manchester or Liverpool. This is only the second occasion on which tho Manchester Guardian has not published for nearly a hundred years, and it is tho first occasion the Liverpool Echo has not published for 112 years.— Aus.-N.Z.
