BOXING.

UREN AND HOLMES DRAW. By Telegraph—Press Association. Greymouth, Last Night. A fight between Uren (9.7) and Holmes (9.7) was held in the Town Hall before a big house. It went the full distance, the referee (Mr. Cadman) declaring a draw. Holmes wn» prominent in the early stages, ducking under Uren's guard, and scoring hard with the right to tho ribs. Uren, who was cool throughout, then connected often with the right and left to the face. In tho thirteenth round Uren floored Holmes, and the count went, to nine, but tho latter rose full of fight and' tore in with both hands to the body. Uren continued poking out the right to the face, and had Holmes thinking hard. In clinches both scored to the body, Uren demonstrating a lot of strength. In the last two rounds Uren put on s lot of points, and the decision met with mixed approval, Uren appearing to have a slight advantage. FRENCHMEN FOR AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Paris, August 20. The Eudeline has sailed for Australia with a party of boxers, including Arthur Wj'ns, who fights Kilbane at the Sydney Stadium. The others of the party arc: Francis Crioni. the welter-weight champion of France, and Zozo Durro, ihe feather-weight champion, who was recently operated on for appendicitis, but made a fine recovery.—Aus.-N.Z.
