TROPICAL AUSTRALIA.

SUITABLE FOR WHITE PEOPLE. By Telegraph.—Press Asan.—Copyright. Received August 27, 11.10 p.m. s Brisbane, August 27. A sub-committee of the Medical Congress appointed to investigate the occupation of tropical Australia by whites, reports that it is unable to find anything pointing to the existence of inherent or insuperable obstacles in the way of the permanent occupation of tropical Australia by a healthy, indigenous white race. Constructive suggestions offered were, summed up, the regulation or prohibition of the sale of alcohol, better housing and clothing conditions, and the hygienic education of the people.—Aus.N.Z.
