Mr. Novrton King, Ltd's, sa.le on Wednesday, at lnglewood, was well attended in spite of the somewhat sudden, break in the weather, when the following prices were obtained for the stock ottered, viz., Hoggets from 21s 7d to 28s, in lamb ewes 30s (id, yearling steers up to £3 15s, heifers £4 17s to £5 10s, empty heifers £7 to KS, 15 to 18-month steers £3 13s, store cows from £4 15s to £9 17s 6d, bulls £4 to £0 l(ls| springing heifers £lO 10s to £l9, and cows from £9 10s to £2l 10s. The clearing sale which the lnglewood start of Newton King, Ltd,' hold on Tuesday, at Leppcr Road, on account of Mr. I<\ Goodwin, drew a very fair number of buyers and onlookers and the prices given for the various lines offered were, up to those ruling lately, though the shortness of feed, consequent on the long continued southerly weather, no doubt Influenced buyers of the dairy stock. \ The cows realised from £lO to £2O, bull £lO, yearlings £2 15s, horses from £l3 to £3l, sows with litters from £7 to £lO, sows to farrow from £7 to £l2 10s. Farm implements and sundries sold at satisfactory rates. BURNSIDE.STOCK SALE. Duncdln, August 25. There were good yardings of fat cattle and sheep at Buvnside to-day. i'igs were in moderate supply, unci sold at a further advance on late high rates. Sheep were ft shade easier, which was • accounted for by the reduced values butchers are receiving for sheepskins and also to some extent to the prospective reduction in the value of wool. The fai, cattle sales opened fairly well, but lower \alues had to bo accepted owing to (he large mwiber coming forward. Fat Cattle— A large yarding, numbering 232 head. Willie there was a fair number of good quality cattle offered, several of the pens contained animals in an unfinished conditon. Extra prime bullocks made from £2S to £32, prime bullocks £23 to £27, medium bullocks £l7 to £22, llghu bullocks from £M, extra prime heavy heifers £lB lo £24, prime heifers £ls to £lB, medium heifers £l2 to £l4 10s, lighter heifers £9. Store Cattle.—A medium yarding of indifferent quality was offered. No good sorts were amongst-the number. The-demand was not brisk, and the prices realised were about on a par with hist week's rates. Sheep—A largo yarding, numbering 2G75 head. The quality ou the whole was fair. At the opening of the sale competition was good, and prices were on a par with last week's rates, but ihe demand slackened as the sale progressed, and prices receded lo the extent of Is Oil a head on opening rates. Extra prime heavyweight wether's realised from 07s :id to 73s 9d, prime wethers, 47s Od to s(is Cd, medium wethers 3'Js to 4(is, light and unfinished sorts from 35s uhwards. Prime ewes realised from 48s to IBs (id, medium ewes ;>is to 38s Od, light and aged, ev.es from 25s upwards. Hoggets.—Only 77 of this class were offered. These met with good competition, and sold at ni'lccs ranging from 24s to 3!'s 3d a head. Pigs.—These were in short supply, and a much larger number would have been disposed .of, had they been sent in for sale. The demand was exceptionally keen at an advance of 7s lid a head on late rates. Best baconers realised from Is l'£d to Is per lb., and best porkers from Is 2d to'ls 3d per lb.
