ACCOUNTANTS' INSTITUTE. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, August 26. xlt the annual meeting of the Incorporated Institute of Accountants of New Zealand Mr. James Morrison (Christchuroh) was elected president, and Mr. J. L. Arcus (Wellington) vicepresident. The accumulated funds of the institute amount to fJ1134. It was decided to give £IOO as a subsidy to the university colleges grant made by the Society -of Accpuntants and £4O was voted for distribution among various accountant students societies and kindred associations in New Zealand. SOLUTION OF WRECK MYSTERY. Gisborne, August 26. It is now definitely established that the steamer Kia Ora was 12 jniles off Gable Enid foreland from noon'on Sunday till 6.30 at night, and then steamed In fhe northwards of East Cape, and there can be little doubt that this was the steamer seen from Rototahi station. The Kia Ora was at Tokomaru Bay loading on Friday, then the storm came 1 up and she put to sea, cruising about off Gable End on Sunday under easy steam. No whistle was blown.
