CORRESPONDENCE.
PROFITEERING.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—ln describing a case of profiteering in the News of the 24th Inst., your Opunake correspondent seems rather mixed. There may be some of the class la the district that ho writes of, but I found a better class. ,1 attended a clearing sale & few days since. Seven sacks of potatoes were offered, one sack or the lot, knoc id down at 19s per sack. "How many?" The buyer said, "I'll take the lot, and then he told those present* "If anyone wants a sack ha can get it at the same price," Kesult: the buyer had one left for himself, and delivered some of the other six a distance of six miles, still for tbe 19s per sack.—l am, etc,, M.M. Opunake, 25th August.
