At the wool sales 11,157 bales were catalogued, of which 3249 ware New Zealand. There was a crowded attendance of Home, Continental and United States buyers. Bidding was more active than for many months and there was a decidedly brisker tone all round. There was a capital selection of merinos, particularly fine hard Continental lortt, for which thera was good Continental competition with occasional United States support. Merinos generally advanced 0 to 10 par cent. Choice Geeloogg were keenly competed for. Several good greasy lots realised 64d. At Walwakaiho on the 20th there was a good yarding of both store and dairy cattle. The latter class, good quality sorts especially, sold under very keen competition. On the same day, at Otakeho, we conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr. Ruhe Rangitawa. All classes realised full market values, quality cattle especially offering very keen competition. The herd of 53 cows average £l6 10s, top prices from £23 to £3O, empty, heifers £7, yearling heifers 255, hoggets IDs 6il, sow 32s 6d, sow and litter £ll 10s, Ally £6 10s, colt £ls ss, mare £l3 10s, geldings £2O, £2l. Implements and a small quantity of sundries sold well,

SALE OF FRIESIANS. The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton Report: At Cambridge on Friday. 20th inst., in conjunction with Meters. Dalgety and Co., we held a sale of the Cralgnell Herd of pedigree Frisian cattle, the property of Mr. G. M. Watt. The latter was one of the first advocates of this breed In the Walkatu and his operations since have been conducted with great success. For the past season the herd, embracing every cow unllked on the farm, averaged 3001bs of butter-fat per head. Most of the animals offered were bred to such sires as Galatea's Bonny Boy, Sir De Rol Tnka Pieterje, Canada's Pride, Mentor Laddie, Canterbury Statesman, King Lucena, etc. Buyers .representative of both Islands wert present and competition throughout was keen arid well sustained. In all 71 lots were catalogued. The cows, 43 in number, averaged iSVt guineas. The highest priced animal in this section was Cllffslde Lassie, purchased at 122 guineas by Mr. D. Ross, Hairini. The sire of this cow was Cliffside Laddie, dam Longbeach 4th, The 2-year-old heiffrs averaged 45% guineas, all of this class making similar values . The yearling heifers, which were a nice lot, averaged 89V4 guineas, and again the top priced animal was secured by Mr. Boss at 77 guineas. The average for the 14 bulls offered was 40% guineas, the highest figure, 80 guineas, being given by Messrs. Whewell Bros, for King of Cadilacs. Ihe grade cows, numbering 30, were offered at the conclusion of the pedigree cattle, and sold under good competition, realising an average of 27% guineas.
