THE MEAT TRUST.
OPPOSED BY CANTERBURY FARMERS. By lel«raph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Matters arising out of the application to the Minister of Agriculture to grant an export license to Armour and Co. were discussed at some length by the executive of the North Canterbury Farmers' Union. Opinion was divided, but eventually a motion was carried stating that the Government be urged to take steps to prevent the Meat Trusts monopolising the export trade of the Dominion. Mr. W. E. Leadley was appointed to represent the Union before the Parliamentary Committee on Friday.
