VISIT OF A CHAMPION. KIRKWOOD TO PLAY AT NEW PLYMOUTH. The proposal that J. H. Kirkwood, the open champion of Australasia, should visit New Plymouth during his tour of New Zealand, which was outlined In jesterday's Daily News, was considered at a meeting of the New Plymouth Club's Committee last, night, It was decided to arrange for a viait, and for Kirkwood to play an exhibition game on the links at Waiwakaiho. A limited number of tickets will be Issued. Tho date of Kirkwood's visit cannoi be definitely fixed yet, but it will be some time In September. He arrives at Auckland on Septemcbr 6, and his first engagement will be to play at the Dominion championship meeting' at Hamilton NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. Yesterday the ladles of the New Plymouth Club played a teams match, captain v. secretary, which resulted In a win for the captain's team by 7 to 6.
