BUTTER EXPORT.
BRITISH OFFER TO BE CONSIDERED LOCAL PRICE MAY BE 2s 41 The Dominion Butter Committee Will meet this week to consider the offer of the British Government to purchase tli« exportable surplus of butter from New Zealand during the season just opened. It is practically certain that the, producer*' representatives will accept • the offer (says the Dominion). Owing to the 'certainty that the season's price'will he higher than the present controlled price in New Zehland, the factories ate not releasing any butter for local'tale. A shortage of supplies for the ;toeal market is inevitable if this continues, and it is therefore a matter of jK>me importance that the question of .the disposal of exported butter should be decided as soon as possible. The retail price in New Zealand will jirobabU be somewhere in the neighborhood of 2| 4d per pound when the new butter Csßte» on to the market. ■"
