BUILDING REGULATIONS.
Subject to a permit, WARNING TO CONTRACTORS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following statement hfus been issued by the Board of Trade:— Persona who have not completed buildings which they had in course of construction on June 30 (not th&a subject to a permit by the Board of Trade) are reminded that permits will bo required for the continuation of such works after August sl. When the new regulations were gazetted provision was made for "two months' grace" as from June 30 for buildings which had been begun before the issue of permits was vested in the Board. Any person thus concerned whose building operations will go beyond August 31. must lodge ftn *pplicatiou for a permit on fTio. ordinary form with the local authority in the same manner as for a neiv building. Prompt action is necessary now as a safeguard against a'stoppage. A reminder 13 also given to suppliers of materials for the works in question that after August 31 all orders will be subject to a Before they deliver timber, bricks, or cement they must receive a definite eta lenient that a permit has bee.'i obtained for the use of these materials. As a .precaution against misunderstanding, the Board of Trade desires to bring the position under the notice of persons whose building operations will become subject to a permit as from September 1.
