FARM AND DAIRY.

STRATFORD MODEL DAIRY FARM. The monthly meeting of the Stratford Model Dairy Farm was held on August 10, Mr. J. W. Deem presiding. The Stock Coinoniltee reported that two sows and one pig had been sold, but nothing had been done re housing of pigs retained. The manager was instructed to make with a view to prucir -ng suitable timber. The matter of extra assistance jWas left in tho hands of Mr. Richards and the manager. Mr. Richards reported that one horse, harness and cover had been purchased for £3O. • The Stock Committee reported that 58 dry cattle are still being fed on swedes, and milking cattle being fed on mangolds and carrots. The balance-sheet and accounts for tho year ending July 31, 1920, were ordered to be printed, subject to audit. The third annual general meeting was fixed for Saturday, August It was resolved that the Farm Committee meet at the farm to formulate a policy in connection with improvements. Accounts amounting to £23 (19s 4d were passed for payment. The farm manager reported; Crops: The' bottom paddock of swedes are finished. The top paddock of swedes is being fed oft by the dry cattle, which will last till'about the middle of September. Mangolds; Mangolds have carted Into a pit. Carrots; Carrots are fed to milking cows and horses; l-iey will last till the end of August. Cabbage and Kale: Finished. Ensilage Stack: Opened July 20th., and some carted out to dry cows and heifers. Oats and Vetches: Have not yet been fed. Hay: Stock m bottom road paddock is finished, and the other one startod on. Pasture: Paddocks are being harrowed when convenient. Stock: Twenty-four cows and one heifer are in milk. Factory opened August. 2nd every other day. Total supply to date 3501 lbs.
