SEAMEN THREATEN STRIKE.

The In'ter-Allied Seamen's Conference adopted the Belgian delegation's motion in favor of a general strike of seamen with the object of obtaining an eighthuor day and a forty-eight hour week, with a French amendment in favor of submitting the proposal to a commission, composed equally of shipowners and seamen, before launching a strike movement. The motion and amendment were adopted practically unanimously.—Reuter.
