MOSLEMS LEAVE INDIA.
EMIGRATE TO AFGHANISTAN. TURKISH TERMS RESENTED, By T«l»gr»i>h.—Pros Assn.—Copyright. Received August 15, 5.5 p.m. Delhi, AugUßt 14. The emigration of Indian Moslems to Afghanistan as a protest against the Turkish peace terms is assuming alarming proportions, and about twenty thousand have crossed the frontier.
This is the result of ithe preaching of the Mullahs, who declare that the Moslems remaining in India wiil become outcasts. Lying reports are also spread jtbat the holy places at Mecca and Medina in ithe hands of the British have been desecrated or destroyed. Many small landowners who sold everything in order to emigrate are starving at Khyber Pass, while many have returned to India with stories of ill-treatment at the hands oi the Afghans. The, constant influx is becoming bo inconvenient that the Amir has ordered a stoppage of the movement until further notice.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
