The Farmers' Co-operative Organisation Society of New Zealand, Limited, report for the week ended 7th Inst. On Saturday, July 31st, at Awatunn, we held an auction sale on account of Mr. It. S. Klrkpatriclr. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding came well throughout. The dairy cows were good sorts, and in good condition. £2O to £2B were the ruling prices, the average over nil being £23. A gelding, three-quarter draught, brought £4l. Implements, sundries, etc., sold well. At Opunake, on Monday, 2nd inst% we had a full yarding, and everything in the store pens was sold. We quote: Hoggets, 295; store pigs, £2 and £2 18s; sow to farrow, £10: best cows, £lO 10s to £11; storo cows, £C 10s to £8 15s;'yearling steers to £3 7s; do. heifers to £4 10s; dairy heifers, Jersey cross, to £25 ss; other?, £lO 10s to £l4. On Monday we held a clearing sale on account of Mr. Thos. Bolger, at Mangatokl. In spite of rough weather there was a good attendance, and we report a. good sale. Dairy cows brought to £2O, pigs and farm sundries selling well. At Manaia, on Tuesday, the yards were well filled. Bidding on the stores lines was spirited. and we report a good sale. Good store pigs, £3 to £3 2s 6d; sow, £ll 10s; best cows, £l2 12s fii* to £l4 12s 6d; forward do., lighter sorts, £7 10s to £8 15s; yearling heifers, £5 10s;. dairy heifers, backward sorts, £9. On Tuesday, the Stratford yards were well filled, all classes of stock coming forward, and meeting a fair market. Nearly all was sold. Storo rows, best, £8 15s to £9 10s; lighter do., at lato rates; yearling steers to £4; dairy heifers, showing well, £l4 to £l6; others more backward, £lO. At Inglewood on Wednesday, store and dairy cattle camo forward well. We sold, on account of Mr. F. Bracegirdlc, his dairy herd. Bidding was free. The cows were good doiry sorts, and looking well. They* averaged £25. Dairy heifers, showing well, brought £ls; others £lO to £ll 10s; store cattle sold at recent rates. On Wednesday we sold by auction Mr. Dennis King's herd at Auroa. <*hcre was a large attendance, and wo report a good sale all through. Cows brought to £4O, the herd averaging £2O. Horses and pigs sold well. At Tariki we held a clearing sale on account of Messrs. Hali and Putt. There was a good attendance, and the sale went with n swing thfoughout. Dairy cows, good sorts, brought. £25 to £3O; others, £1:1. Implements and sundries brought full value. On Thursday, we held a clearing sale of. cows and sundries on account of Mr. Grooby, Frankley Road. New Plymouth. The cows brought £l4 to £l7 14s; mare, half draught, 8 years, £3O. Implements and sundries sold well. y At Auroa on Friday we report a full yarding. Competition was good, and everything was sold under tho hammer. Wearer pigs, IPs; store pins, £2 fis to £2 iSa; lambs. 17s to 22s fid; best cows. £9 15s to £lo* 10s; store cows. £7 5s to £8; yearling steers, £2 10s to £2 10s; yearling heifers, £4 2s; empty heifers. £9; dairy heifers, well-grown, showing well, £ls to £2O 10s; others, £ll to £l4. On Friday we held a clearing sale on account of Mr. .Tames Winks, Araratn. There was a eood attendance, and everything sold well. We quote: Ewe hoggets, 295; 2-tooth and 4-tooth wethers, 245: Uomney, ewes in lamb, £2 Is; purebred Lincoln ewes in lamb, £2 3s; 3-year draught mare, £4l 10s; 3year colt, £37. Implements and sundries brought full market value, L. AND M. REPORT. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency (Hawera branch) report At Kakaramea. on Monday, a good yarding of rattle sold well up to late quotations. We quote: Fat and forward cows £9 to £0 (is, stores £0 to £S. others £3 5s to £5, empty heifers to £0 2s Gd, yearling heifers £4 17s. steers £2 3s, bulls to £9, store pigs to £2 12s, sows £3 10s, hoggets 2Gs 3d. On Wednesday, at Eltharn, we had a big yarding, particularly prown cattle. Although there was a big attendance, bidding was not brisk, especially for young cattle, but in spite of this we managed to quit most of the entries at satisfactory prices. On account of Mr. Chas. Robinson we offered horses and sundries, which sold at very satisfactory prices. We quote; Fat cows £ll, forward cows t.o £B. storeß £3 5s to £7, empty heifeis £<s, btiJls £3 5s to £S 10s, dairy cows, besf. £2O to £25 10s, Jerseys to £29, others £8 to £lB, heifers £lO 15s to £l7 Ins, h.tlfdraughW £3O to £4l 10a, fat m.s. sheep 37s 6d. At Hawera, on Thursday, we had a full yarding of both sheep and cattle, and although a few lines of the former were passed in at the fall of the hammer, we managed to dispose of tfeem before leaving the yards. There was a big attendance of buyers for sheep and grown cattle, and wo report a very satisfactory sale. We quote: Fat and forward cows £8 5s to £9, medium ditto £6 5s to £7 Ids. others £2 to £5 10s, empty heifers £5 18s to £6 10s, Jerseys £7 15s, 20-month steeds £5 10s, yearling heifers £3 to £4 14s, steers to £2, dairy cows to £lB, heifers £9 10s to £IS ss. fat ewes 335, ewes sm. (in lamb) 38s fid, aged Uitjto (in lamb) 275, 4-tooths 38s, fat 2-tooth etves 34*. fal f.m ewes 325, hoggets (good) 29s to 30s 4d, porkers £4 15s, store pigs £2 5s to £2 9s, small ditto 3Cs, sows (in pig) to £B. Off Friday, at Wftverley, we had a fair yarding. There was a good attendance of buyers, hut competition not very keen. We quote: Springing heifers £8 10s to £lfi, 20-mortha steers £s"6s, 4 and 6-too(,h ewes (in lamb) 37s 10d, hoggets 28s 2d, unbroken half-draught £24. THE TALLOW MARKET. Messrs. Dalgety and Co, Ltd., report having received rfhe following cable from their London house, under date of the 4th instant, which reads as follows: "Tallow firm. Nominal quotations ex warehouse: Prime mutton 70s per cwfc; good color, mixed, 65s per cwt; no color, mixed/ 59s per cwt; gut, 50s per cwt. Prime beef; There are sellers at 75s per cwt."
