Women accompanying military in a raid in the village of Swords, County Dublin, searched all women residents, even compelling some td remove their Bhoes and stockings. De Valera announces that he sent a cable to Arthur Griffiths characterising as absurd the reports that he is willing to accept colonial home rule, and declaring it is evident that an attempt is being made to fool the Irish people. "Anyone in possession of a letter of mine, no matter how confidential, on such a topic, is free -to publish it.
