WESTPORT HARBOR.

GOVERNMENT'S PROPOSAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Westport, Last Night. At a public, meeting held in the Town Hall to-night to consider the Government's proposed legislation to take over the Westport Harbor Board, the following resolutions were carried:— "That this meeting of the citizens of Westport does not disagree with the action of the Government in taking over the Board, provided: (1) It is made clear that the retiring Harbor Board is not responsible for the present unfavorable financial position; and (2) that the revenue from tho lands held in trust.by the present Harbor Board under the Act cf 1884, is set aside, and used only for the development of the Westport harbor and the lands connected therewith." "That tlie Government be asked to repeal clauses 108 and 109 of the Finance Act of 1915, and refund to the board revenues taken under those clauses, amounting to some £67,000."
