ARCHBISHOP MANNIX.
NOT ALLOWED IN IRELAND. By Telegraph.—Preas Assn.—CopyrightLondon, August 5. Mr. Lloyd George, further questioned in the House of Commons, said that the Government's decision was that Archbishop Mannix should not be permitted to land in Ireland, and the necessary steps were being taken to make this decision effective.

Irish organisations at Liverpool declare that Archbishop Mannix will receive the greatest welcome accorded any Irishman at Liverpool, where he is due on Sunday evening or Monday morning. Contingents from many Lancashire towns will participate. As religious feelings are likely to be deeply stirred, the authorities are anxious, and are taking great precautions. The public will be excluded fiom the dock, and the arrival of the steamer will be kept as secret as possible. There is even a possibility of the ship being diverted to another port. The Cork City Corporation will send B deputation to confer the freedom 1 of the city on 'Archbishop Mannix. The Sinn Fein executive at Cork has ordered tlie people to hang flags on Sunday in Archbishop Mannix's' honor, .T-irin Feinem in South Ireland have arranged a series of bonfires along the coast, but the Baltic will likely take the northern route.—Aus. and N.Z.
