Advice has been received by the Minister for Agriculture (Hon. W. Nosworthy) that the balance of the Australian wheat purchased by New Zealand has been shipped from Geelong in the Kauri. According to reports received by Mr. Nosworthy, the wheat sowings in Otago and Southland arc more extensive than usual. In North Otago and South Can" terbury, owing to the dry weather, the sowings up to the present have not been extensive, but it is expected .that a large area will be sown down in wheat in August. The steamer Waimarino has arrived at Auckland from Geelong. She carries 0200 tons of wheat for New Zealand.
