Sir James Wilson, who is not seeking re-election to the position of President of .the £Jew Zealand Farmers' Union, was to-diyt, appointed a life member of the Dominion Executive. The following motion.was also carried by the conference;''' That this conference desire* to place on- record its appreciation of the great service rendered by Sir James Wilson to the fanners of New Zealand during the past 20 years as Dominion president, and that an appropriate illuminated address be prepared and presented to him on the first,, suitable opportunity, setting forth his unique and honorable record of 20 years' presidency of the Union, his extensive and valuable services in many other ways to his fellow farmers, his generous and long continued work in connection with,the Farmers' Union Advocate from the period of its inception to the! present, and last, but not least, our hearty acknowledgment of the fact that Sir James Wjkwrn has earned, and will'Tetain the universal love and. esteem of every member Of the Union who' has had the pleasure of forming his acquaintance, and that* committee be set up to carry ttoe resolution into effect."
