By Telegraph—Versa Assn.— Copyright Received Loudon, July 23. .Surroy liad a sporting victory at the Oval, beating Lancashire, who made 208 runs hi the tlrst Innings, while Surrey declared at 278 for nine wickets. Lancashire's second Innings produced 160, and Surrey's 91 for one wicket Hobbs (not out), made 57. Surrey knocked up the runs in 47 minutes, forcing a winning position against the clock. Makepeace, in 130 minutes, batted admirably foe 62, but. was poorly supported. Hobbs completely mastered Parkin. It was the best match of the season. Averages.—Batting: Hendren, total 1384 runa, average 72.84 ; Hobbs, 155 C, average 62.6.4; Henrne, 1096 average 57.68; Holmes, 1234, average 51.41; llussell, 1043, average 51.34.
