The resolutions passed by school teachers iu different centres, criticisiiig tlie decision to form a separate teachers' association iu Auckland, were considered by the managing committee of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Kducational Institute. The commit Lee decided to reply that it was not resjiLi.'isible for the formation of the new association, but believed the movement w,a3 due to a general feeling on the part of Auckland teachers that they were suffering an injustice. It was contended that the 1918 finding of the Appeal Board, and the decisions in support from the Supreme Court, Parliamentary committee, and even Parliament itself, have been in turn flouted. The Auckland teachers felt, it was stated, that at the last annual conference of the institute the meeting was more concerned, with excusing the action of the department than with upholding the rights of their fellow teachers,
