THE BROKEN HILL STRIKE.By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, July 21. The Broken Hill miners, by 2000 votes to 100, agreed to accept the decision of the conference for a commission of five a side with an independent chairman. Work will not proceed until a final agreement is arrived at.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE .PREMIERS' CONFERENCE. Melbouupe, July 21. The Premiers' Conference has concluded. It was agreed that the Commonwealth should take over the States' officers and organisation in London so far as they affect immigration. The conference also agreed on a uniform system of tax gathering, but disagreed as to whether it should: be controlled by the States or the Commonwealth.—Aus.-N.Z, Cable Assn. STATE LOTTERY OPPOSED. Sydney, July 21. Mr. M'Girr, reiterating his opposition to a State lottery, said the experience of Italy and other countries was that it had a demoralising effect on the community. —Aus.-N.Z.
