TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. The full programme appears in this Issue for the boxing tournament, which Is to take place in the Empire Theatre next Thursday, the 29th. inst. Tho programme to be submitted is a very food one. There will be a 10-round pro-, fesslonal bout for a purse of flfflty sovereigns' between Tommy Thompson (winner of Army championships in Prance and England), and Frank Brown (welter champion 4th Battle Squadron Grand Fleet, 1915). These two contestants were the winners of the professional bouts at the May tournament, Knur special amateur bouts of sir rounds •"'"to be staged. In the bantam weight, V D. Itolston will meet T. Chaplin; In the lightweight, A. Duggan (Normanby) will be matched with V. Carrol; in the welter weight, It. Land will try conclusions with P. O'Carroll (Inglewood), while In the (heavyweight two well-known contestants, C. F. Clifton and C Volzke, will meet. Prices of admission have been flxed at 10s, •'S, and 3s, and there are a. number of ringside tickets at £1 is. Patrons who require ringside seats should book same without delay, as enquiries are already being made for them. The bos plan opens this morning at 9 a.m. at Colliers.
